International Association of Scientologists - 2006

I just found a great Blog which gives the contact information and best deals for people traveling to UK for the 2006 International Association of Scientologists Event.

It lists the current best deals, Hotels, Bed and Breakfast places, Hostels and even camping sites for the more adventurous.

The event itself is not just a briefing to find out what's happening in the Scientology community. It's really the place to go if you really want to find out how Scientology is improving conditions on a global level. You find out what's been done so far and what the plans are for the future.

Check out iasmembership.org if you want to find out more information on the International Association of Scientologists (IAS). The home page explains...

"The IAS is the official membership organization of Scientology, the most vital movement on Earth today.

"A Scientologist is defined as "essentially one who betters the conditions of himself and the conditions of others by using Scientology technology."

"The IAS is made up of individual Scientologists who desire to change conditions on this planet for the better. Its purpose is:

"To unite, advance, support and protect the Scientology religion and Scientologists in all parts of the world, so as to achieve the aims of Scientology as originated by L. Ron Hubbard.

"Through their participation, membership fees and donations, members of the IAS support many efforts geared toward achieving the aims of Scientology." (more

Childhood Years

To go off on a tangent (though not totally a digression) I just want to say that my childhood was very sane and I was raised in a loving and caring environment where I was free to persue my own interests and was supported in doing so. My family liked the fact that I spent most of my growing years out skateboarding. And even in my teens, high school days and after I graduated and in College I was still spending a majority of my time skateboarding. I never once got any negative comments about how I was "wasting my time" or "Skateboarding is for kids" etc.

This, I believe, was due in most part because my parents are Scientologists. Here is an article, Scientologists Opt for "Hands-On" Parenting Solutions, which gives a little more in depth on how and why this would be.
